Last year Utenos trikotažas (UT) sustained LTL 18,6 million consolidated losses, LTL 8,4 million of which was due to devaluation of Ukraine’s currency and due to the recalculated assets of the secondary enterprise in Ukraine. In 2007 losses of Utenos trikotažas totalled LTL 7,8 million. During the period being compared the income of the Company decreased by as much as 22 per cent, to LTL 94 million.

According to the preliminary data, last year Sanitas group suffered LTL 2,1 million losses, and in quarter four of 2008 alone its losses totalled LTL 17,5 million. In 2007, net income of the group amounted to LTL 37,3 million. Last year income of the group increased by 14%, up to LTL 382,5 million. Last year losses of Sanitas alone totalled LTL 12,5 million, though in 2007 the Company earned LTL 16,5 million net profits.

In 2008, Klaipėdos baldai earned LTL 3,851 million non-audited net profits – as much as 27.69 per cent more than in 2007. During a year the Company’s sales increased by as much as 20% and totalled LTL 185,283 million.

Lat year Vilniaus baldai earned LTL 7,4 million net profits, which is four times more that the year before last. Then the Company’s net profits amounted to LTL 1,8 million. In 2008 profits of Vilniaus baldai before taxes totalled LTL 8,02 million and were three times as much as in the year 2007. Last year the Company received LTL 137,5 million income, which is as much as 9% less than in 2007.

Last year Snaigė suffered LTL 22,986 million net losses, and the year before last net losses totalled LTL 11,412 million. In 2008, the Company’s sales and services totalled LTL 339,430 million, which is as much as 17% less as compared with the past year.

Food industry
According to the non-audited data, last year Vilniaus degtinė earned LTL 1,27 million net profits, which is as much as 24% less than in 2007. The Company’s profits before taxes totalled LTL 1,82 million, and were by as much as 11% less than a year before. Last year Vilniaus degtinė earned LTL 69,4 million income, which was by as much as 2.4% higher than in 2007.

In 2008, Alita sustained LTL 14,2 million loss before taxes, during 2007 it earned LTL 11,4 million consolidated profits. The increased excises on alcoholic beverages, writing off doubtful debts, as well as investments in the development of the activities of Belgrade beer brewery Beogradska Industrija Piva and the Private Company Alita Distribution UAB determined the losses.

According to the non-audited data, last year Rokiškio sūris group sustained LTL 18,719 million consolidated losses. In 2009, it plans to reach 1-2% profitability. In 2007, the Company earned LTL 34,238 million consolidated net profits. Last year non-audited sales of the group totalled LTL 679,015 million and were by as much as 2.11% higher than in 2007.

Transport
In 2008 Klaipėda Stevedoring Company (Klasco) group earned LTL 15,24 million net profits, which is as much as 15% more than the year before last. Non-audited profits of the group before taxes totalled LTL 18,13 million, which is as much as 12.4% less than a year ago. Last year Klasco group received 10% less income than the year before last – LTL 170,54 million and LTL 188,52 million, respectively. It is stated that the group’s forecast to reach the sales growth of at least 5% was not realised because in June the group’s secondary private company Krovinių terminalas was sold.

Last year Lietuvos jūrų laivininkystė sustained LTL 19,7 million losses, and during quarter four of 2008 alone the losses totalled LTL 38,1 million. In 2007, the Company earned LTL 30,1 million net profits. Last year its sales decreased by as much as 4.5%, to LTL 87,617 million.

Energetics
The Polish concern PKN Orlen SA, which owns Mažeikių nafta, suffered an annual loss for the first time during its entire history. According to the preliminary data, it totalled PLN 659 million. The year before last net profits totalled PLN 2,4 billion.

In 2008, non-audited net profits of Lietuvos energija totalled LTL 43 million.
In 2007 it amounted to LTL 47,4 million. The Company’s income, as compared with that in 2007, increased by as much as 31% and totalled LTL 1,485 billion.

Insurance
According to the non-audited data, in 2008, Lietuvos draudimas earned almost LTL 38 million, which is 30% less than in 2007. According to the non-audited data, the Company earned LTL 51 million from non-life insurance activities, which is as much as 15% more than the year before last. Losses from the investment activity totalled LTL 6 million.
