Last year Lithuania attracted as much as 41.3 per cent more capital than in 2009 |

In 2010, Lithuania attracted one fifth more investment projects and as much as 41.3 per cent more capital than it did last year. As many as 3,300 more jobs are planned to be created in Lithuania. This data have been announced by “fDiMarkets.com” run by the business information group The Financial Times Ltd.
“In 2010, foreign companies announced the implementation of about 42 projects on foreign direct investment in Lithuania. As much as 20 per cent more projects were initiated than in the year 2009, when the number of the projects announced totalled 35. It is planned to invest LTL 4 billion, or about 41.3 per cent more, than in 2009, when it was announced that LTL 2,83 billion had been attracted. It is for the first time that such a record amount has been attracted since 2003”, Director General of the public enterprise Investuok Lietuvoje Mantas Nocius summed up the latest data.
In 2010, the public enterprise Investuok Lietuvoje attracted as many as 11 projects from that list the total value of which amounted to more than LTL 101 million and it is planned to create as many as 1250 jobs. From their announcement to the implementation of foreign direct investment projects, including capital investments and jobs being created, takes from 6 to 3 years.
