The turnover of the private company UAB Sicor Biotech / TEVA - leader of Lithuanian biopharmacy - increased by 49% during the first half of this year and reached 52.67 million litas.
"We are working hard to increase export and quickly break into new markets. That’s why we are taking more orders for medicine manufacture in Lithuania. Great results in the first half of the year were mainly influenced by the sales of TevaGrastim - a medicine for oncological patients, which was registered in the EU last year," says Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vladas Algirdas Bumelis, UAB Sicor Biotech / TEVA Director General.
According to the Director General, the export of products with high added value manufactured in the company forms 70% of sales. "Being a part of the TEVA group we have exceptional opportunities to expand our export markets. We can also cooperate with scientists from other biopharmacy companies within the TEVA group and work together to create new advanced biotechnological medicine," says Prof. Bumelis, leader of the Lithuanian scientist team.
"Sicor Biotech products are sold in more than 30 countries worldwide. By our endeavours we are trying to contribute to the growth of the Lithuanian economy. We are planning to double our exports within the next few years," adds the head of Sicor Biotech.
